Good Morning Council,

We are looking forward to the Public Hearing and consideration of the 2023 Budget on Thursday. Thank you to Council Members Speer and Wallach who submitted proposed changes and additional questions via Hotline last week.  We have summarized and/or addressed Council Member Speer's and Council Member Wallach's suggested changes in the memo for Thursday and provided additional information, if it was deemed helpful to the potential discussion.  Staff plans to provide an overview of the additional information on Thursday and help tee up the discussion to consider Council Member Speer's and Council Member Wallach's proposals in addition to other suggestions that may come up during the public hearing and subsequent Council discussion as needed.  We have also attached specific staff responses to the clarification related items from Council Member Wallach's post.

Thank you again for a great discussion on the 2023 Recommended Budget.  As a reminder, we are asking for any substantive proposed changes to the budget to be submitted via Hotline by September 23.  This will give us enough time to include any proposed changes into the final packet for the October 6 Regular Meeting.  We encourage you to reach out to budget staff to help with any information you need and to ensure proposed changes are structurally and technically sound.  This will hopefully ensure the best use of your time during budget consideration in October.

We have also prepared some preliminary responses to questions and feedback provided at the September 8 Study Session.  This information, attached here, will also be included in the final packet for October 6.
