[BoulderCouncilHotline] Overview of Homeownership Program

Dear City Council,

A few weeks ago I had a meeting with Sam Weaver and Bob Yates.  In that meeting, there were questions that came up about our homeownership program within the City.  I have attached a report that I requested from the Housing staff to answer some of these questions.  We have roughly 800 homes in the city which are deed restricted and sold to low and middle income households.  The Division of Housing qualifies all new families for resales and for new homes that become available.  They also provide homeowner training/education and work with households, once they move in, to help prevent foreclosures.  It is a tremendous program within the City that doesn't get much notice.  I am thankful for Sam and Bob's insightful questions on this program, which gives me an opportunity to send out this document.
