Colleagues and hotline followers,

Below is an additional proposal I would like to make tonight regarding the co-op ordinance. It is an attempt to set the occupancy limit at 8 with a possibility of higher occupancy based on meeting additional criteria. The proposal is grounded in the group home section of 9-6-3 of the Boulder Revised Code:

1. An occupancy of 8 is permitted but the city manager may increase the occupancy of a co-op to up to ten occupants, if:

(A) The floor area ratio for the facility complies with standards of the Colorado State Departments of Public Health and Environment and Social Services and Chapter 10-2, "Property Maintenance Code," B.R.C. 1981 (or whatever maintenance code is current); and

(B) Off-street parking is appropriate to the use and needs of the co-op and the number of vehicles used by its occupants and

(C) The co-op obtains letters of support from at least 10 neighborhood residents residing within a block of the existing co-op and

(D) Co-op meets all other requirements within the ordinance.

Thank you.
