Dear colleagues:

Senator Bennet wants to hear from local elected officials about whether Congress should strip EPA of its ability to implement the Clean Power Plan, proposed by the EPA last summer. The Clean Power Plan will reduce greenhouse gas emissions from coal-fired power plants 30% by 2030. It is also projected to have an array of public health benefits, as you can imagine.

The coal industry and their allies are pushing back on state and national leaders to dismantle the EPA's authority to implement this rule. Environment Colorado met with Senator Bennet's staff last week, and staff told EC they want to hear from local elected officials who support cutting carbon pollution.

If you agree that EPA should not be stripped of this important power to reduce carbon emissions, please make a quick phone call to Senator Bennet's office to ask him to support the Clean Power Plan. The senator's DC number is 202-224-5852. Press 1 to leave a message.
