Greetings from Yellowstone!

I was able to watch the special council meeting discussion on planning
issues last night and have a couple comments. 

It is clear we will go forward with having a facilitator. That is fine
although I still think we as electeds are fully capable of having our own
non-facilitated discussion.

Given the various perspectives for our meeting next week, I think it is
critical to have more than one perspective working with the facilitator in
planning our next week's study session. Matt clearly has his perspective
about process and outcomes as he said last night, but it is imperative that
another council member be able to work with Heather and Matt on framing the
discussion. I would suggest we ask Sam, if he is available, to be that other
member given the amount of work and thought he has put into current planning
issues so that our time next Tuesday is used constructively. Matt and Sam
could meet and speak with Heather on the phone to schedule the meeting.
