While Lisa has asked a good question, there are a huge number of good questions that we can ask.  I think that one goal of tonight's meeting might be to focus in on what we really need to know, both about Xcel's proposal and about municipalization.  Not all questions (not even mine!) can or should be answered.  I'd suggest that Bob and his team not start working on this one -- or anything else that might have come in from a councilmember or two -- until we can significantly narrow the very large universe of things that might be interesting to know about.

Doesn't the Boulder Business Report keep track of various industry segments and their economic impact? It might not be something that have readily available for this emerging sector, but worth checking. I also bet COSEA (sp?) keeps track of economic impact for their market segment. Lastly, the Boulder Economic Council and/or Chamber should have local market data for the clean energy cluster. Of course, all of this is going to be past data. I'm guessing no one has made projections for possible market impact if we municipalize.  And probably none of it is going to be tax remittances per se- just overall economic impact. 
Just some ideas.

Good morning Lisa.  It is not something we track as a separate segment of tax remittances, and our software system does not have query capability to extract the information electronically to the detail that would be needed We would also want to check with other departments for revenues we do not process.  It would need to be a manual process and take a significant amount of time to accumulate the information.  Let me discuss it with others in the department and the city to see what we can provide.  We will not be able to have it ready for tonight's meeting so will work on it and provide for the July meeting when the ballot discussion occurs.  Thank you.

As we head into our energy discussions, I was wondering if we have a value for the local entrepreneurs who have started a wide variety of new clean energy businesses.  Do we have a feel for the amount of revenue this new businesses have generated?
