BOISE, Idaho -- The Eastern Idaho Regional Solid Waste District and Dynamis<http://www.dynamisenergy.com/> Energy<http://www.dynamisenergy.com/> have signed a turnkey contract for a Waste-to-Energy plant based on the Dynamis 3.0 Advanced Thermal Gasification Technology. Under the agreement, Dynamis Energy will design, build and operate the Waste-to-Energy plant. Upon completion in 2012, the plant will process more than 120,000 tons of waste per year to generate steam and electricity. The Waste-to-Energy plant is a part of the economic development effort being made in Clark County and will be built within the Centennial Energy Park north east of the City of Dubois.

The engineering and permitting processes will start immediately with construction to begin this summer. The actual construction phase of the Waste-to-Energy plant will take approximately 15 months, and according to the Economic Impact Study completed for the project, will create more than 150 local construction jobs during that period and the permanent operation of the plant will include 35-40 new full-time jobs for the economically depressed Clark County. In addition, this project will also likely result in the creation of an additional 2.7 jobs in the local supplier chain, providing additional benefits to Clark, Fremont, Madison and Bonneville counties, the counties whom make up the Eastern Idaho Regional Solid Waste District.

Based on the Dynamis 3.0 Technology, the Waste-to-Energy plant is expected to generate 13.5 Megawatts of electricity at peak which will be sold to Rocky Mountain Power. Other revenues will come from the sale of recyclables and steam sales to surrounding businesses located in the Centennial Energy Park. Each of the counties from the EIRSWD will benefit from reduced tipping fees and avoiding the transportation and fees associated with landfilling.
