We had a public hearing on the revised 2035 Regional Transportation Plan and on Metro Vision 2035S. There were fewer than a dozen comments, but all of them were supportive of incorporating six new sustainability goals into the regional plans.  These goals are as follows:
o Increase the rate of construction of alternative transportation facilities
o Reduce the percent of trips to work by single-occupant vehicle to 65% by 2035
o Locate 50% of new housing and 75% of new employment within urban centers
o Eliminate state’s per capita use of water by an amount to be determined in 2011
o Reduce regional per capita VMT 10% by 2035
o Reduce per capita greenhouse gas emissions from the transportation sector 60% by 2035 - consistent with Colorado Climate Action Plan goal of reducing total emissions 20% below 2005 levels by 2020
