 Local Governments for Sustainability USA board as the city's representative.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;color:black"><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;color:black;background:white">As brief background, Matt has been a highly effective member of the ICLEI USA
</span><span style="font-size:12.0pt;color:#2F5597;mso-style-textfill-fill-color:#2F5597;mso-style-textfill-fill-alpha:100.0%;background:white"><a href="https://icleiusa.org/about/board/"><span style="color:#2F5597;mso-style-textfill-fill-color:#2F5597;mso-style-textfill-fill-alpha:100.0%">Board
 of Directors</span></a></span><span style="font-size:12.0pt;color:black;background:white"> since 2015</span><span style="font-size:12.0pt">. In addition,
</span><span style="font-size:12.0pt;color:black">Matt is the chair of the ICLEI North American Regional Executive Committee or RexCom.&nbsp; The request before council is to appoint Matt to the ICLEI USA Board for another two-year period.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

 &#8211; Local Governments for Sustainability</span></a>,</span><span style="font-size:12.0pt;color:black"> was founded in 1990 as the International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives and is regarded as the world's leading network of local and regional governments
 committed to sustainable development. <span style="background:white">ICLEI&nbsp;has grown to more than 1,750 local and regional governments of all sizes working in more than 100 countries on nearly 200 active sustainability projects.<o:p></o:p></span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;color:black">ICLEI provides essential support for local communities on climate and sustainability.&nbsp; To help cities, towns, and counties create more sustainable communities, ICLEI provides a network to other
 local governments, frameworks for accelerating community-based work in a collaborative way, and technical tools like the leading online software platform for completing greenhouse gas inventories, forecasts, climate action plans, and monitoring at the community-wide
 or government-operations scales.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;color:black"><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;color:black">Boulder has been a member of ICLEI for many years and continues to use the
</span><span style="font-size:12.0pt;color:#2F5597;mso-style-textfill-fill-color:#2F5597;mso-style-textfill-fill-alpha:100.0%"><a href="https://icleiusa.org/clearpath/"><span style="color:#2F5597;mso-style-textfill-fill-color:#2F5597;mso-style-textfill-fill-alpha:100.0%">ClearPath
 emissions reporting protocol</span></a></span><span style="font-size:12.0pt;color:black"> from ICLEI for its emission inventories.&nbsp; City staff regularly collaborate with other cities through the ICLEI network of committed cities to accelerate and strengthen
 their own climate efforts. Boulder has also taken advantage of a dedicated ICLEI technical advisor who serves as our go-to resource for greenhouse gas emissions management, sustainability and climate planning, and peer-city collaboration.
