Dear CAC, Colleagues and Community,

Last Tuesday, during our discussion of Marpa House, it was suggested that we approach nuisance properties in a more holistic manner.

The following day, I spoke with Cheif Herold, she provided me with this information<https://www.lisc.org/media/filer_public/28/2e/282eaf85-62cf-41e6-97bb-bf46660bc570/bcji-tools_for_change_-_the_chronic_nuisance_ordinance.pdf> regarding a best practice approach to the identified problem.

I am not sure if we need to provide another nod of five or not, given that we provided one for examining solutions after the Hill riot. I believe this could be considered under that nod, but I will leave it to CAC to discuss.

Given staff and council's current workload and after perusing some of the links provided in the information, it would be prudent to begin by asking staff to scope out what such an ordinance would require.

Thank you.

We're all in this together...six feet apart.

In solidarity,

Mary Dolores Young
