[BoulderCouncilHotline] Notice of emergency meeting March 16, 2020 in Council Chambers

Fellow Council Members and HOTLINE followers,

I sent out the notice below to each individual Council Member about 10 minutes ago.  At the suggestion of the City Manager, we will have an emergency Council meeting Monday, March 16, 2020 to consider ratifying the declaration of a state of emergency in Boulder relative to the novel coronavirus outbreak in Colorado.  We will begin with discussion of the emergency ordinance proposed by the City Attorney allowing call-in participation by the public as well as Council Members.  If that measure passes, we will then connect with any Council Members who are not physically present and discuss further measures to mitigate the spread of the 2019-nCoV virus in our community.  If we get through that discussion completely, then at the will of Council we may consider any business which had been scheduled for our regular Council meeting on March 17, 2020.

Please expect additional updates from Council or the City Manager as this situation evolves.

City Council Member,

I am calling a special meeting of city council on Monday March 16 at 5:00 pm.  The meeting will be held in council chambers and will be televised. Among the items at the meeting will be the consideration of an emergency ordinance to allow council to hold virtual meetings and if that passes, council members may participate remotely if they wish.  I ask all council members to respond to me and Lynnette Beck that they have received and acknowledge this announcement of a special meeting.  The City Clerk will post notice of the special meeting in accordance the provisions of the Charter and Code.

Please respond to all of those included on this email acknowledging that you waive personal service of this notice.
