Hello, Council and Hotline readers,

Redwood City, CA isn't happy with the Opportunity Zone designation. Their City Council sent a letter to Gov. Brown's office saying they want out. Note the stringent AH requirements if they can't get out and guaranteed neighborhood protections.

Astoria, Oregon opted out of Opportunity Zones, based on concerns of "the rich getting richer."  Here's the link:

Also, Austin, TX has expressed major concerns about OZ, thinking it may hurt the very people it's supposed to help:

Seems Boulder isn't the only place to want closer examination around these apparent "benefits."
