Hi Cindy

I agree and am disappointed we cannot have a council discussion tomorrow. As I explained to Suzanne this morning, I’m not asking for any staff presentation. I just want to ask questions which should be answerable and to have a council conversation. I also have a concern regarding timing and pushing our discussion out to January as I think on the pollard site, we’re trying to get that renewed proposal final soon so that project can take advantage of funding (perhaps associated with opportunity zones????). I seriously doubt our discussion on the library will take 3 hours given the pretty firm position/direction of the council at our July study session.

If we don’t discuss this tomorrow, I note we could have time on our December 18th meeting under matters. Let’s have this discussion sooner than later.

Having just read the proposed scheduling for the discussion for the Opportunity Zones designation, I think January 8th is too far out. My sense, and that of many community members I’ve heard from, is that discussion of this matter should be immediate, like now. I would like to see at least preliminary questions and staff answers tomorrow evening after the Library funding discussion. Further, I will not be in town January 8, as is known to staff, and since I was the first council member to ask about this issue and to ask for a study session in early October, I would like to be present for any discussion.
I ask that you take this into consideration now. And if not tomorrow night, as soon as possible in December. My sense is that a majority of the council would agree to a special meeting for the Opportunity Zone discussion so that we may bring it forward as soon as possible.
