Thank you Staff and Transportation Advisory Board for participating in tonight’s study session.

Though I was not present, I did watch from afar and have the following comments:

Agree that there should be more collaboration between TAB and Planning Board especially on Transportation Demand Management plans if only in the short term as a more predictable structure is developed.

Another area of potential collaboration are corner radii in and out of developments as projects go through site review (I missed the email from staff on design construction standards).

Vision Zero-
Agree with my colleagues on the engineering techniques that help accomplish the goal and support TAB’s approach of focusing on the older, the younger and those with disabilities.

Leading intervals should be increased at key intersections and set crosswalk timing to fit the needs of the slower pedestrians crossing, especially at key intersections along 28th, 30th and Folsom with Arapaho, Canyon and Pearl. Pay particular attention to intersections with nearby senior housing and housing for people with disabilities.

Signage for No Right Turn on Red would be especially helpful especially at key intersections used by visitors.

Flashing left turn lights are confusing (yellow means go very fast!), but mostly understand what is going on simultaneously: e.g. what is the perspective of the person in the oncoming lane, are they also going very fast as they watch a pedestrian countdown signal?

Agree with prioritizing county roads especially those used by a diverse set of commuters.

Parking-
While I agree with paying for parking, it should not occur regressively, affecting low wage workers disproportionately for example.

Transit-
Support the alternatives that staff is analyzing. Paying in $9 million and receiving $2 million in benefit is unacceptable.

Best,
