Dear Council members,

Tomorrow city council will be discussing next steps for the property known as Hogan Pancost. The original staff recommendation included in the study session memorandum was for council to take no action at the current time. This would have allowed the council an opportunity to decide whether to place a question on the November 2018 ballot to garner additional sales tax dollars to fund a potential city purchase of the property. I have heard concerns with this recommendation because of the time delay and uncertainty of the approach. At the study session, staff will be prepared to discuss possible uses for the property including the process to amend the comprehensive plan intergovernmental agreement to allow for a change of the Hogan Pancost property from area II to area III should city council be interested in that option. Staff will be prepared to discuss this recommendation and the associated process with council tomorrow evening.

Best regards,
Jane
