Colleagues - The Camera has an article noting that our charter subcommittee has decided not to recommend a ballot issue this year regarding modifying the height limit to deal with potential rooftop decks. Fair enough, but the article, perhaps incorrectly, states that this item will therefore not be on our Study Session agenda and has been "killed" for this year. Obviously that is not the case since the full council may decide to discuss the issue further, as I would like to do.

As I noted when we were discussing the Civic Pad, I think we should consider a charter amendment that would allow rooftop decks, with limitations of course, particularly a requirement that the total size and height of appurtenances including any deck-related items such as elevators and stairs retain their existing limits. So, if staff has prepared any information regarding this issue that was made available to the subcommittee or that might help inform us during the study session, I would appreciate if that were sent out in advance.
Thanks --Matt
