Both sides of the occupancy limits discussion are making compelling points about housing affordability and availability on the one hand, and disruptive life in neighborhood blocks, on the other.

I want to suggest that staff attend to the public comments closely, and keep track of the contact information of people weighing in on the issue so that we can draw these folks together to help find a solution that works for everyone. The stories we are
hearing, the experience of people in this important part of their lives--housing and where they live--are the context in which the City will be acting to address the concerns that are brought forward.

If we collect the contact information for people as they step forward, it will enable us to reach out to them and keep them apprised of when and where they can continue to be involved in the discussion and shape the outcome. These folks and their experiences
are a valuable resource in defining the problems and finding solutions for them.

CU must be closely involved in the discussion as well, as the the growth in the number of students at the state's flagship school puts increasing pressure on housing and neighborhoods, impacting affordability and quality of life.
