[bouldercouncilhotline] Hotline: Getting Corporate money out of elections-a ballot issue

I would like to have Council consider directing staff to prepare a ballot initiative for November 2013 that would require shareholder consent as a condition of a corporation's injection
 of cash into local issue elections. The initiative, if passed in this election, would become effective thereafter.


The direction would ask counsel to come back with a ballot initiative along the lines of the ordinance that we reviewed at the June 4 meeting. A copy of the way the initiative would
 fit into Chapter 13-2 is attached for your review. The substance of the proposal is in the redlined changes to the ordinance.
