Wow--I knew we had outstanding citizens serving on our Boards and Commissions, but this is off the charts!

Mara Abbott, a 27 year old Boulder woman, is the greatest women's professional road cyclist in the world. She was appointed to the Environmental Advisory Board in 2012, where she serves a 5
 year term.

For a second time, Mara Abbot has won the most difficult women's stage race (8 days) in the world, the Giro Rosa. It is an insanely difficult accomplishment, and Mara won not only the overall competition, but also the mountain competition as well. This
is akin to a male cyclist's winning not only the Yellow Jersey, but also the Polka Dot Jersey given to the best climber, in the Tour de France.

In press interviews available online, Mara has spoken often of her commitment to sustainability, and her concern about the environmental impacts of her sport.
