Actually, to say the Hotel is being recognized for its green features would be an understatement. The Best Western Plus Hotel on 28th Street has just put in a large solar array that will provide 25% of the Hotels electricity needs on an annual basis. Guests get real glassware and coffee mugs in their rooms, and eat from compostable dining service at breakfast. Employees get free Ecopasses, and guests can borrow bicycles form the Hotel to use while they are visiting Boulder.

Comfortable seating throughout the Hotel is supplied from a line of furniture that is made with almost 100% recycled content. And the Hotel is planning to implement a system that will shut off all energy-using appliances and lights when guests leave their room.

This is really very exciting, and the Hotel's considerable achievements are the subject of a recent article in the Boulder County Business Report. See http://www.bcbr.com/article.asp?id=62564 for more information about what they are doing.
