I thought you would be interested in the America's Great Outdoors Initiative that President Obama launched.  You can read the report at the web site below as well as watch the video.  This is a project that former Boulder resident Will Shafroth has worked on with Secretary of Interior Ken Salazar.  Funding would come from fully funding the Land and Water Conservation Fund - revenues for the LWCF are generated from outer continental shelf oil and gas drilling.  It has only been fully funded to its $900 million dollar authorization level twice during the LWCF's 45 year history.
The report is interesting and the funding strategy is something we should understand so we can identify projects that fit the AGO Initiative.
